Phobias

Feeling fear is our body’s way of trying to protect us from a threat or danger. Fear is vital for our survival. But sometimes that fear can exist where the danger or threat don’t exist, and then it may be called a phobia. Phobias can be debilitating. We may avoid certain situations or the phobia might prevent us from doing things we would want to do because the perceived threat or danger becomes overwhelming and our anxiety and stress build. Reactions can be physical too, with symptoms like sweating or difficulty breathing.
Solution-focused hypnotherapists work to address phobias through changing learned behaviour practices. We help you to calm the mind, feel relaxed and comfortable and then to reshape your behaviour when presented with the phobia.
Hypnotherapy treatment for phobias may sometimes require fewer sessions (possibly four) but this really depends on the nature of the phobia. During the first session we will talk to discover the root of your phobia and how many sessions you are likely to need.
